Leading is one thing. But leading with purpose and authenticity—especially in the face of enrollment challenges, economic pressures, policy shifts, and the needs of a growing list of stakeholders?
Well, that’s a whole other topic—one that the New Jersey ACE Women’s Network is looking to tackle Friday, March 24 during its spring conference at Seton Hall University. “Leading with Purpose and Authenticity” marks the return of the NJACE annual in-person spring conference, which explores leadership topics and offers professional networking. During “A Conversation Among Presidents,” Dr. Marcheta P. Evans, president of Bloomfield College, Dr. Kathryn A. Foster, president of The College of New Jersey, and Dr. Cindy R. Jebb, president of Ramapo College of New Jersey will tackle the topic head-on. And in addition to a candid dialogue, the three presidents plan to talk directly with NJ women in higher education who are looking for ways to hone their leadership skills and advance their careers.

Prioritizing purpose, authenticity
“Being authentic and purposeful includes being true to who you are even when you are under pressure,” says Dr. Evans, who brings more than 30 years of higher education leadership experience to the conversation. “Ideally, attendees will leave with a sense of being able to see themselves reaching those goals, and planning whatever their next step is,” Dr. Evans says. “Our time together will be impactful.”
Following lunch, attendees will join Dr. Michelle Callahan, a nationally recognized psychologist and business coach, for “Your Professional Brand.” The afternoon session focuses on ways to optimize one’s personal and professional presence. Attendees will also have the opportunity to update their professional headshots while at the conference.
